Orientation BOOKLET for FILIPINOS IN germany
Are you new in Germany?
The 2nd edition of the free orientation booklet containing practical tips and information for newcomers and settlers in Germany will soon be available for you.
The “Orientation Booklet for Filipinos in Germany” was initially launched in 2014 in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Philippine-German diplomatic relations. This pocket-sized information booklet is specially tailored for use as a general "Guide" on the "basics" to help visiting Filipinos and newly-arrived migrants adapt and integrate in Germany. It contains practical tips and information based on current references and personal experience of the authors. The free digital copy has been shared online since May 26, 2014. In cooperation with generous donors, printed copies of the booklets have been produced and turned-over to the Philippine Embassy in Berlin for distribution to its consulates and clientele. Copies of the booklet were also shared with churches and organizations hosting Filipino congregations.

The Orientation Booklet is currently being updated. The update also aims to support the UPAA Germany eV Scholarship Fund. You can participate as a donor or as a major printing sponsor (Please download the donation form). The list of donors will be acknowledged in the project’s webpage. You can also help by giving us comments on things to improve in the booklet on or before December 15, 2015. The target release date of the updated booklet is in the first quarter of 2016.
The 2nd edition of the orientation booklet (to be published in 2016) benefited from the help of UPAA Germany e.V. colleagues and friends, especially Dr. Gabriel Kühne, Gerhard Müller and Falk Schleicher (Goethe-Institut Philippinen) for providing new references, corrections and comments on the booklet. We are also especially grateful to Ambassador Melita Sta. Maria-Thomeczek, the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, Dr. Nelissa Jamora, Mr. and Mrs. George and Yapsie Vega (from D-55131 Mainz) and all corporate donors (the list below is not yet complete) who supported this 2nd edition of the booklet. Donations contributed to this project will benefit the UPAA Germany e.V. scholarship fund.
